Business Continuity

Assembling an effective business continuity plan is a daunting task for the staffs of financial institutions. DD&F provides the structure, training, resources, and assistance to develop a comprehensive business continuity plan that meets the requirements as described in the FFIEC IT Examination Handbook: Business Continuity Booklet. Our consultants will facilitate the development process in conjunction with a designated project manager from the institution. DD&F will guide the development process through two phases of development that result in a business continuity plan that is ready for approval, implementation, and testing. The services provided under each phase are detailed below:

Development Phase - In the development phase, DD&F will work in conjunction with a designated project manager to develop a draft plan. The draft plan will include a risk analysis, a business impact analysis, emergency response plans, disaster recovery plans, and operational contingency plans.

Approval Phase - DD&F will work in conjunction with the project manager to develop a plan in a form to be submitted to management and the Board for approval. This phase includes an onsite review of the draft plan with management, a walk through of the components of the plan, and an overview of the implementation phase, including an implementation checklist.

Additional support available includes the development of supporting documentation and design of the testing plan, and auditing the implementation of the plan.
